Bearer of Bad News surprised me to be honest. I enjoyed this a lot.
Lucy is a hairdresser in a slump who isn’t quite sure what to do about her relationship with her fiancée after finding out he’s been cheating on her. She seeks out employment and finds a secretive job of “Bearer of Bad News.” Free trip to Italian mountains included! Lucy gets herself into a few pickles.
The more I read this the more I liked it and the more I wanted to get to the bottom of Taffy’s weird assignment just as much as Lucy.
In the end it is touching and everything made sense.
I also enjoyed the Author’s note at the end going into details of names she chose and how they relate to real life WW2 people.
This was a fun read.
