I started this, and then put it down, and then finally finished it. I liked this book but I didn't love it. It's about three adult sisters from an Indian family who were brought up by their parents in London. When their mother dies, she leaves them a letter detailing a journey through India that she wishes them to take, all together. None of the three sisters seems very happy with her life; and there are a lot of unspoken family secrets that come out over the course of the novel. Each sister seemed very self-absorbed and very judgmental about the others. Normally I love the sister dynamic in a book (Rise and Shine, Sisterland) but I can't put my finger on why I didn't find this more engaging. But it's definitely why I decided to put it down and come back to it later.
