Better than the first book. Getting to know alien races always solidifies my opinion of a book—and this alien race is fantastic. The author took time to think about the cultural differences both from us and from each other. Even down to hand signals. The world building involves some fun creatures that I would NEVER want to meet. Every character is unique in the natural way that humans are. A half point off because though I love this series and the characters, for some reason it just doesn’t click like my favorite books do. Also, they killed my favorite character. So.
