What I liked about the book: excellent enemies to lovers. The road to lovers is not instant, short, or without bumps along the way. I believe they’re enemies to the bone and I rarely get that from a book.
What I didn’t like: pretty much everything else. The smut was poorly written. Kingsnake makes an emphasis on wanting women who consent but then proceeds to force himself on Larissa multiple times, including in her sleep. There’s rarely any foreplay. And it’s usually always in missionary.
The plot seemed like it was made up as the book was written. How was I supposed to care about elves when I hadn’t heard about them prior? Most plot points only started to exist when they needed to, making this, in combination with the numerous grammatical errors, feel like a first draft.
