Slightly different in tone than the previous two nocels, but no less impactful.
The Border, like The Cartel and The Power of the Dog before it should be required reading for policy makers in the US. This being the third time I have said as much.
As aforementioned, The Border is tonally different than what came prior in that it puts alot more focus on the white collar aspect of the narcotics industry and how the proceeds from said industry are put to work to both legitimize their earnings and acquire influence.
Another new area The Border focuses on is the American immigration and asylum system and the cruelties that are baked into it. People fleeing the worst possible circumstances present themselves legally to the border requesting asylum only for them to be labeled as illegal aliens and criminals when often the only crime they are guilty of is being born at the wrong latitude.
