Howards End by E.M. Forster
5.0

I was feeling frustrated with contemporary literature so I returned to classics. Goodreads recommended this and I am glad it did.
I was wondering why a man over 100 years ago could write women characters that have more depth and are all so different then most writers these days and read an interesting article on how EM foster was a gay man and after reading on feminism often saw the plight of women in Victorian society similar to his own and put his own feelings into his female characters. I was not fond of Mr. Wilcox, or really any of the Wilcoxes, besides Ruth, but I did enjoy reading about their relationships. There was also quiet a few surprises as well.
