Princess in the Spotlight
by Meg Cabot
This book is still enjoyable, even if I don't find it as thrilling as The Princess Diaries. It is a fun filler type book and it is fun to see Meg drop hints of things to come in future books as well as in other series that she intended to write slowly come to light in here.

Mia is having to deal with a lot more than just princess duties in this book. Early on her mother lets her know that she is pregnant with Mia's algebra teacher's baby. In my last review I kind of forgot to mention that bit that they were dating. Considering how she had already had Mia without being married, she figured that maybe she would have to help her mother out and raise the child together. However, Mr G is a decent guy and decides to make an honest woman out of her, asking her mother to marry him, so within a few weeks they are getting ready for a wedding.

Lily is once again upset with Mia when she finds out that she has agreed to do an interview with 24/7 (of course set up by her father and grandmere) when she claims that Mia has already agreed to give the first official interview to Lily now that she has been outed as a princess.
In the mean time, Mia is getting messages from a secret admirer who goes by the name JoCrox. She is hoping that it is possibly Michael, who is still making his presence known in this book tutoring Mia during class and asking her how she is.

It all culminates on Halloween, with a wedding for her parents and her finding out who her secret admirer is at a viewing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
You can definitely tell it was from a different time though, as the World Trade Centers are mentioned as being viewable, and many pop culture references in the book.
It is overall enjoyable, and I loved having the reread though I am highly anticipating the next book as it is one of my favorites.
