This book really taught me I am not this book kinda reader whilst I can understand how so many people love this book, I do think the couple had genuine bond but for me it was just one too many sex scenes that kinda just felt repetitive over the course of the novel and I also felt they fell in love very quickly(and obviously I get that their thing was only supposed to be for a week but like Rome was particularly wanting to marry after he slept with her one time and Janelle was saying that she can never have sex with anyone again like ????? woah lmao) and idk some of the confessions (refer to previous parentheses) just felt slightly corny to me at times, even the book club just felt placed in the novel for the sake of the readers and being playfully for them rather than authentic to the characters at time.
So yeah this was mostly cute I just felt like I was expecting this amazing book for everything I’ve been hearing for the past two like basically since this book was indie published I was hearing about it, so I really wanted to love it, I just didn’t.
