I'm not going to go crazy with a review here. Suffice it to say that THIS is how Urban Fantasy should be done. Cat & Bones at their best. A nasty villain to deal with, a new long story arc slowly evolving with the old team now that Uncle Don has passed (without needing some insulting cliff hanger to try to lure us back), plenty of sexy times between Bones & Cat with plenty of heat but not the focus of the book, and a relationship that is interesting and wonderful to read about without needing angsty triangle tropes.
I enjoyed Cat & Bones in this book! It's nice to see them enjoying each other and strengthening each other to get 'er done. This book also had Ian with some hilarious repartee, and Spade and Diane. I think I liked Diane better in this book than in any book I've read with her in it yet (including the Night Huntress World book that featured her as a primary protagonist). We also get to meet some new characters who are amusing and endearing and a bit insouciant.
Bravo and WELL DONE.
