I really enjoyed this book. There's a diverse cast of characters and family situations. I enjoyed the strength and purity of Frances and Aled's friendship, with no romantic overtones or ulterior motives. I loved the contrast between Frances's relationship with her mom and Aled's relationship with his. I also love the growth that occurs in both characters as they realize that they don't need to be bound by society's expectations. I wish I had access to this book when I was a young adult deciding on my future studies and career.
Moderate: Suicidal thoughts, Mental illness, Emotional abuse, and Animal death
Minor: Fatphobia
