Oh, I just love this series! I thought I might get bored with it, but somehow I find myself fascinated with the everyday details of family life during the early years of WWII. I can't write a rational, considered review because it is sheer pleasure. All the characters are captivating and real, even the unlikeable ones. I am going to have to ration myself and not gallop through the rest. Difficult as this one ends on a cliffhanger.

Oh, but one more thing: I especially loved the character development of Zoe and Louise -- so believable and well done.
