Really enjoyed this short story and can't wait to finally watch the drama adaptation now!

What really shown for me is not Qiao Jing Jing's character but more Yu Tu's character. Jing Jing's character didn't have much if any development other than plot. She stayed consistent throughout; optimistic, kind, level-headed and popular. Yu Tu's character had more development in that he learned what his ignorance and ego cost him. I was surprised that I finally learned what author's are trying to go for in "cold" characters. Cold has been used to describe so many ML's and really I just think silent, unenthusiastic and stoic but that's really unrealistic of any person. Yu Tu was perfectly written and described as cold. Yes he's cold but he's still a person begrudgingly helping Jing Jing get better at King of Glory. And you still feel him excited or looking forward to it despite him being "cold". He is "cold" in that silent character but his actions made him warm and enthusiastic.

I also love that his relationship with Xia Qing and her as well wasn't drawn out. There is no dramatic ex-girlfriend plot. I loved Jing Jing's reaction to his letters. These and the entire story really, made the relationship so realistic and enjoyable. The most realistic mature cute funny novel I've every read. Though it was short it didn't leave any more to be desired.
