Ambessa: Chosen of the Wolf by C.L. Clark
3.75
An easy read and solid book. Does its role at answering questions about Mel, Ambessa and the conflict with Black Rose perfectly. I wish we had gotten a few scenes from the book animated in arcane, specifically Mel and Kino moments.
It did feel lacking on some point though.
My biggest issue with it was the politics. If you are used to reading books with complex politics, it is... quite simplistic. I understand that it was not the point of the book, and it was meant as more of a character study/expending on the lore, but reading some interactions and political choices in there was truly puzzling. It felt a bit ridiculous even at times.
Overall an enjoyable read, and an absolutely necessary one to fully understand Ambessa and some of the Arcane plot lines.
