Interesting plot line, but the insertion of politics for no other reason than to 'characterize' an unlikable character is an immediate DNF from me.
Theo has an issue with his uncle and his thoughts are "He must have voted for Trump" It was already established that he was unlikable with other characteristics. The statement wasn't needed.
