The Eccentric Doctor of the Moon Flower Kingdom, Vol. 1
by Tohru Himuka
In a Chinese-inspired fantasy setting (not too fantasy-ish yet, aside from the country's mythical origin-story), a crown prince dealing with inner court backstabbing (standard story: powerful concubine wanting to put HER son on the throne) meets an unusual young woman who is a gifted doctor, and ends up taking her and her manservant back to the capital supposedly to repay her for services rendered, except really he plans to use her skills in this succession struggle. A little humor is mixed in (Mr Yang!!!) to keep the mood light.
Nothing really stands out for me yet in this first volume compared to similar Chinese-fantasy manga (Apothecary's Diary, Inept Villainess, etc), but it's good enough that I don't mind checking out the second book to see how it develops.
