kaitlynslagel 's review for:
The Zombie Parade
by Max Brallier
As in most series', the sequel does not live up to the expectations of the first book. I was expecting more from this book if I'm being honest. The beginning was very slow to the point where there were times where I just REALLY did not feel like reading. Don't get me wrong, I'm somewhat excited to start the third book soon!
In the first book, I admired Jack very much. But now, he's just annoying. I felt the opposite about June in the first book, but now she is my absolute favorite character (besides Dirk). I don't know, maybe it's just because I can relate to her more.
Throughout this book I was patiently awaiting for June and Jack to get together. But another part of me kind of didn't want them together. June is a strong girl who can do anything. I understand that this is a children's book and that June and Jack being a couple inevitably will not happen but it's always a good thing to hope.
The whole "Thrull plot twist" thing actually surprised me. I should have seen it coming a mile away! The only thing I really enjoyed about this book is the ending. It was action packed and I couldn't put the book down!
All together, I'm going to rate this book a two. If I could, I'd rate it a two and a half, but that's not an option. Maybe if the beginning had been a little more fast paced I would give this a three. Maybe, I'm not sure.
