truly an experience. i enjoyed every bits of it. having visited oxford before made this feel quite personal, loved the city.
the character back stories, the flow, the development. r f kuang made this story come to life, super compelling with the depth of the main characters, zero plotholes (from what i remember). loved the friendship of our protagonists and where their loyalties stand with various "battles" they faced. a cause bigger then themselves.
i also appreciated the silver bar magic system, where i got to learn fun etymologies from languages such as French, Greek, Sanskrit, Chinese, etc. this is my introduction to kuang, and im excited to devour some more!!
