it was a fun read; and i knew i would love reading about sports!mmc x fmc, because it's so chill and cute and lots of fun. i like the kind of found family trope with the entire hockey team - honestly same, i love that sm. i want it too !!!

okay, but like, one thing about this book specific -- anastasia seems to have no character development whatsoever? like, she is fine to begin with, but she doesn't really like stand out in any way. she deals with some stuff but she doesn't really learn anything, she stays with her obsessed perfectionism and schedule, and honestly, while i get it because same, i just wish there was more to the character's journey?

nate is very sweet, and i like him, and him and anastasia do fit together, but the same goes for him. like they're characters and they don't feel tooo shallow but like, there's still room for improvement.

another thing is that at times it felt like i was listening to a person explain their thoughts to me. like, when stassie and nate were kind of cold because of the aaron thing, she explained her thoughts in an essay type of way, and it was kind of weird. i want it to be shown that they're having this convo rather than stassie thinking about what he shouldn't do or whatever.

what i did really like was that there was no miscommunication~ LOVE THAT. i hate the miscommunication trope so fucking much, so i'm glad when they can just fucking TALK. and talk they did (and then some)

anyway, i probably won't read the sequel, because it's not about henry and i don't want to read about anyone BUT henry after this (fave character istg)
