Gone for Good by Joanna Schaffhausen

5.0

I was very intrigued at a bookstagrammer’s description of this novel as a thriller intertwined with romance themes and pre-ordered it immediately. I received it from Amazon day of release. As a criminal prosecutor, I enjoy good whodunit criminal thrillers but often I am unable to turn off my knowledge of reality to find these types of books believable or accurate and not just for exaggerated and dramatic entertainment purposes. It takes a background in law and/or lots and lots of research to successfully accomplish this. I had no qualms with this novel and thoroughly enjoyed it. I don’t normally get so into books that I physically cannot put them down and NEED to keep reading to see what happens next, but this was that rare one for me. I *almost* stayed up all night to finish it. I like to think I’m an amateur sleuth myself, but I didn’t see the end coming at all. I cannot wait for what hopefully becomes a series
