Skulduggery and Valkyrie are facing something they've never faced before: Humans developing powers without rhyme or reason. Most of them are basically harmless, but three teens take it upon themselves to hurt those who've hurt them. Skulduggery and Valkyrie have to figure out how to stop them all while ducking the newly formed Supreme Council, Tanith and Sanguine, and traitors within their own Sanctuary. There is one more thing, Valkyrie doesn't know it yet, but something's changed drastically with her reflection.

I love how close Skulduggery and Valkyrie have come over the years, to the point where Skulduggery will put her down if it comes down to it, although he'll use that as the absolute last resort.
