Queen's Shadow
by E.K. Johnston
4.5 stars and rounding down, though that doesn't take away from the fact that I absolutely loved this book. From getting insight into Padme's life to meeting her handmaidens, retconing some of the directorial choices of Phantom Menace, and delving into the politics of Naboo and the senate, this was such a delight to read. The only reason why I'm rounding down is that I found the ending to be somewhat anticlimactic and rushed, though that might be because this is a bridge between stories we know (the book spans a bit of the gap between Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones).
