rossruns 's review for:
On Basilisk Station
by David Weber
I kept hearing glowing reviews from sci-fi fans about this series, and since the first two books were available for free in ebook format, thought I'd give them a shot. This first novel is an excellent foray into the modern space-opera genre, and after about 1/3 of the way through the book, I was hooked. There were a couple things I thought were a little hokey, but understood later why Weber introduced them. Overall, left me wanting to read more of the Honor Harrington series, and if the 2nd book is as good or better than the first, I'll most likely be purchasing most of the rest of the series (I think Weber is up to 12 books in the series so far?) in one fell swoop.
