Yes, while I think this story is an important one, I do wish it was executed better. I'm not sure if there is something un-translatable in the original work. I get the sense that the author wants desperately to show the reader as much about Sami life as she can, so the story and characters suffer for it. Lots of threads dropped here and painfully slow.
