I was confused for almost the entirety of this book. It was fun to try and figure out what was happening, but I was also just along for the ride as Aiden and Anna were solving the death of Evelyn Hardcastle.

The ending really made the book for me, though. Aiden’s reasoning for going to Blackheath made me much more interested in the story, and I wish it was revealed earlier.

All in all, this was a fun whodunit that I enjoyed!

I loved the concept of rehabilitation via solving a murder to get someone else to care about others. I do wish it was revealed earlier that Aiden was there to torture Annabelle because it makes their friendship even more complicated. The fact that he forgives Anna at the end while also helping her escape shows so much character growth for them both. However, it would’ve been intriguing to get a glimpse of their characters before Blackheath.
