While this book puts heavy emphasis on the fiction part of science fiction, This Mortal Coil has an incredibly unique idea that’s pulled off beautifully. It’s break-neck pace, plot twists, and brilliant characters kept me invested and on the edge of my seat the entire time. The romance was a lovely addition to the plot without being overpowering, as it should be considering this is the first book of a trilogy. All together, I was pleasantly surprised by how good this book was and I’d highly suggest it anyone looking for a dark sci-fi read.
