Notes on 'Camp'
by Susan Sontag
I'm still nog completely sure what Camp exactly is, but I feel like that's the point. It is not something you can grasp or that has very strict rules to go by. Talking about Camp is betraying it after all.
Sontag's idea that Camp is not political put me off at first, becasue everything is political and disagreeing with that is very ignorant, but I think the point she was trying to make that Camp as a sensibility is not necessarily political, but the objects that she describes as Camp are political in their own way.
Definitely an interesting text that I will revisit at some point.
