To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

5.0

I actually knew that a couple of my friends were reading this book a few years back, but I didn't really get the love for this book back then. I guess I wasn't really interested in this whole premise when I first learned of its concept. And what a terrible misjudgment I made! I saw the Netflix adaptation a couple months ago, and I thought it was adorably wonderful. Like everyone else, I loved the cute storyline and the characters (however, I thought that Peter K. was way too hung up on Genevieve). I immediately ordered the trilogy on the internet, but they took an entire month to arrive! Still, I'm glad I can read the next two books without knowing what's going to happen.

To All the Boys I've Loved Before is such a terrific, feel-good book. It made me feel as if there were a true connection between me and Lara Jean. I feel for her on so many levels! She loves baking, staying at home, scrapbooking, and reading. It's so comforting to read her introvert thoughts and getting out of her shell. I also love how she is Korean and there are a lot of Asian references in the book. I really liked her and she was special to me in so many ways.

One thing I noticed was different from the movie was the presence of Josh. In the movie, he was just there, but in the book he and Lara Jean actually kissed. I took a quiz yesterday about which boy I would match up to, and it was Josh! I guess I do favor next-door boys and the kind of geeky relationship that grows in the years of childhood through the adolescent years. But I still love Peter K! I just don't think I can handle the fact that he still loves his ex-girlfriend....LOL.
