The Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart
3.0
The plot was exciting (much more exciting than a lot of books that center around toppling empires), the world was vast, and the characters Jovis and Lin were compelling. But the magic system really made no sense and was silly at times (battles where the MCs are furiously scribbling on tiny pieces of human bone to put back inside of furry creatures? idk). Also, wlw weren't in the foreground; they are more like a side plot (B-/C plot level treatment).
I'm not committed yet on whether or not the sequel's in my future but the read was enjoyable and held my attention!
