In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado

This was an interesting book. I loved the format, and I loved how every chapter was titled. The shortness of the chapters made it so quick to get through. I almost finished it in one day, if I hadn't started at 5pm. I really enjoyed this, and I learned quite a bit, too. You don't--at least, I don't--often picture women as being abusers. I suppose that comes from bias, being a woman and hearing for so many years that men are the abusers, the ones to be scared of. But this woman's ex-girlfriend is FREAKY!! And not in any sort of good way. It seriously felt fake, through some parts of this story, because of how insane she was. It felt like I was reading one of those Lifetime movies, like Sleeping with the Enemy. Very good and very entertaining, but also very sad. I'm glad the author is in a much better place now.
