I don't have much to say about this book. It's a short book but it took me 8 days to finish it. It wasn't really captivating but I still believed this book had its own values that couldn't be missed. But really, what made me feel engaged with the story was the dynamic between Chizu, a girl in her early 20s and Ginko, a 71 years old woman. They both have different personality and have a huge age difference, so it makes perfect sense how they didn't get along at first when Chizu first moved to Ginko's house. But I love watching how they emerge their friendship.

The MC isn't someone you'd find entirely likeable but it was her flaw and her uniqueness that made the story uniquely hers. Her narration offers her perspective on loneliness—how it feels like to always be the one that's left behind. Such loneliness, I thought, is relatable to many of us. It doesn't offer significant life-turning events, hence why it feels slow-paced and not really engaging. Bu it does well in portraying raw emotions of experiencing loneliness in your 20s.
