Kenzie's Little Tree
by Emilie Leduc, Alison McGauley
Not enough books are written involving chronic illness in a family and how it can uproot everything, so I am incredibly happy to see KENZIE'S LITTLE TREE doing exactly that. With lovely lyrical writing that takes us through the wonderfully illustrated seasons, this book parallels a mother's chronic illness (but not death) with a new tree being planted and tended to by the family. It's soothing, gentle, and definitely will be a balm to anyone who is going through the same situation or knows someone who is, which, quite frankly, is all of us.
