This is Book 1 of The Broken Stars Series.
This story keeps getting deeper and darker!
Book 2 picks up with Calay and Jacob, holed up in a loft together given certain... complications.
After deciding she doesn't belong on Earth, she agrees to go 'home' and is taken to Téras to be amongst her people, but of course, with Kristy... as is bot what it seems.
We see a definitive shift in Calay during this book. It is clear she is struggling, and so some of her choices and actions are questionable, especially where her relationships are concerned. I feel incredibly sorry for her as so much has happened in such a short timeframe, and you can see her not coping all that well with it.
When she arrived at Téras, I felt relieved for her as it looked like she had somewhere she belonged to, and she had the ever-present Jacob.
Jacob is one of The Others and is in love with Calay, and seeing their relationship developed in Book 1 was great to see, so I expected to see lots more development in Book 2... it definitely developed...
This entire book takes a much darker route with the story itself and, at times, can be pretty heavy. This is even more potent as Calay starts to piece together who she is and what The Others and The Humans' motives really are.
This story is utterly enthralling, and I may have binged the entire series inside 3 days 😆.
If you enjoy Sci-Fi and want to read something a bit different, then this is for you!
⚠️ Just remember to start at Book 1 first as it is best to read in order so you don't miss anything ⚠️
