This book felt like sitting down with your aunt and learning about the messy, turbulent, hilarious, and complicated whole other life she lived before you. The format of the book is unique, written like a transcript of her sessions with a job counselor. It’s almost like a monologue, with quotes taken verbatim from Cara’s mouth that showcase her larger than life personality. 

Cara is such a breath of fresh air. People contain multitudes and Cara is a prime example of that. She’s full of contradictions: just like how all humans are. She’s not perfect: she’s stubborn and says ignorant thing due to her old-fashioned views. But when when circumstances are dire, Cara showcases her resilience and selflessness towards others.
