The Wives
by Simone Gorrindo
Probably 3.5 -
A memoir of a California-raised woman who moves to NY and then has a husband who joins the military and qualifies for an elite unit sent to the Middle East.
On one hand, it was a fascinating look into the life of a military spouse whose husband is deployed and they have little to no contact. On the other hand, the author spends a bit of the book alternating between gratitude for the wives who support her and disdain for the the wives she describes as beneath her. She is definitely not a typical wife of a young enlisted man.
