The Red Threads of Fortune
by Neon Yang
I enjoyed this much more than the first one, but as I felt with the first one, there just isn't enough here. I liked the characters, I love the world, and I just wish everything went deeper. There's an obvious desire to explore complex political narratives, but the stories always end up feeling very small scale--I think that's where Yang thrives.
