The Curious World of Calpurnia Tate by Jacqueline Kelly

4.0

Oh I loved this book. What a great read...especially for younger readers. I just love so much about Calpurnia: the way she always tries to stand up for what's right, the way she looks at the world through a lens of discovery, the way she knows deep inside that she will amount to more than a woman who sits around and looks pretty.

The only reason for 4 stars is that the book wandered a little bit and there wasn't a strong plot going on, but it was still a fun and engaging read.

Content warnings: death, abuse of animals. Talk of dead during the flood. Maybe 1 or 2 very minor curse words.
