A Kingdom of Souls and Shadows by Leslie O'Sullivan
Did not finish book. Stopped at 23%.
Thank you Nerd Fam for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I went back and forth with not finishing this one. Being an ARC, I wanted to push through. But us readers know it can be hard when you're just not vibing with the story.
I really wanted to like this one! I liked the concept. I loved the Ireland setting. Eala was a great main character. But I was struggling with the story being told from first person POV from Eala's perspective. It was clunky and hard for me to get through. Parts of it were also confusing and I couldn't wrap my head around this Irish Faerietale concept mixed with the modern day.
I hope this book can find its audience because it is a really cool concept, it just unfortunately missed the mark for me.
