Marriage as placebo, interior identities, prairies and photography, psychology and polygamy, algorithms and perception vs. reality. This book was well-written and well-researched and so insanely relatable while also creating very specific characters with whom I had very little in common. I loved how the author would make reference to what seemed to be an inconsequential moment, spiraling back and contextualizing a piece of dialogue or an action. The jumping between time and perspective was frustrating ONLY because some chapters ended just as the action was rising and all of a sudden we were back in Jack or Elizabeth's childhood memories, which would inevitably suck me back in.

I feel fortunate to have read this over winter break when I have more uninterrupted reading time - this was a long one but so well done!
