Hooky Volume 3

What an absolutely charming, magical series.
I picked up Hooky Vol. 1 & 2 on a whim when I saw them on a bookshelf at my bookstore that was labeled “graphic novels for kids.” The cute styled artwork and the witchy aesthetic drew me in, and I was looking for a nice, lighthearted read.
This series blew me away. Being listed as a graphic novel for kids doesn’t fully correlate to the impact this book had on me and my emotions. I think kids would thoroughly enjoy this book, but there was so much depth to the characters and the story, the politics of the world and the adversities the characters faced. I did not think I would fall in love with this series as hard as I did. I laughed, I cried, I smiled, I loved.
Family mixed with found family, romance, action, adventure, fantasy, and magic all combined together in this delightful series that I highly recommend to anyone who could use a little bit of joy in their lives.
