Noor has an interesting concept and synopsis, and is different from anything I have recently read. However the storyline and storytelling fell fairly flat for me. The world-building for this sci-fi future felt utterly unfinished, and so much felt unexplained. So much so that I found myself not caring about certain aspects about this world that the author surely intended her audience to care about.

The characters are interesting and captivating, and the pacing between dialogue and narration is satisfying. However the love story between the two main characters felt so insincere, a huge lack of compatibility, and the book would have felt much improved by nixing the love story completely and let them simply be friends supporting one another on their journeys. Still overall I am glad I read this book, and am interested in picking up another of Nnedi Okorafor's books in the future.
