This was fun and HOT! I’m a sucker for a big mean man who is just utterly obsessed and besotted with his heroine, and I’m also a sucker for publishing and literary history so this really ticked all my boxes.

I did find the pacing the slightest bit strange, but I think that was mostly due to the structure of events not quite fitting into the standard romance novel pattern, which I don’t think is necessarily a bad thing.
