This book was not what I was expecting but I really enjoyed it. Part science fiction / time travel, part document of the human experience in loneliness, culture shock, otherness and so much more, with a touch of romance thrown in. The writing was beautiful, the story weird and funny in an unassuming way, and the characters complex and so very human.
I flip-flopped between the audio and physical book (the narrator of the audio has an incredibly soothing voice), but I truly loved every moment of it.
