A middle grade filled with magic, about a girl trying to find her place in the family dynamic and making new friends.
Jude comes from a family of thieves, they steal magic and do dodgy deals around Farrowfell, she so badly wants to be part of the family occupation that she goes off to steal some forbidden magic to prove her worth. The problem is the magic is cursed and now she has to get it back to the place she stole it in time before the curse causes loads of issues.
After a bit of a slow start, this was a really enjoyable read, I liked the issues brought up throughout and the friendships Jude made along the way. I liked how she teamed up with her sister and strengthened their bond. It's also set up nicely for a follow up.
