My Shadow is Pink by Scott Stuart

5.0

Really great book that touches on gender and its stereotypes, as well as acceptance and a little bit of friendship. The story also mentions how what is seen is not always everything there is to someone, as people’s shadows are not the same as the people they belong to. I’m not sure if the shadows are meant to represent the truest self of every person, or if every person is partly their shadow and partly themselves, but I guess it’s up for interpretation and that’s quite alright in my opinion.
The art is adorable and I love how supportive the dad gets. It’s great. Actually teared up a little at that. Really great story!
