Wriggle & Sparkle by Megan Derr

I loved this book. Anderson and Lynn have great chemistry together and I loved every moment from the second they met. The book might have been a little sex-heavy for what I usually like, but the fluffy romance was there so thoroughly that I didn't mind one bit. The cases they got caught up in each chapter were interesting, too, and though the whodunnit was usually pretty obvious, it was exciting to see how things were going to play out. I really liked how the genderfluidity played out for the krakens–how Leslie would shift pronouns along with her body but Lynn kept the same pronouns regardless, it was really refreshing, as well as Lynn's business at the end being popular with the asexual and poly crowd. I loved this through and through. I had been excited for it from the moment the author mentioned she was writing kraken/unicorn shifters so very long ago and it not only lived up to my hype but surpassed every hope I had. (And I guess I have a thing for tentacles now?)
