The Emperor and the Endless Palace

First.
THE FUCKING COVER IS GORGEOUS!!
Second.
I really enjoyed this kind of story. I am huge sucker for the soulmate trope and a even bigger sucker for the forgotten soulmate trope (keep the hurt-comfort coming baby), but this one gave it a twist I definitely wasn't expecting and honestly one that I both loved and hated. It was truly a bittersweet story of fated madness. This story literally had me bust out pencil and paper just so I can match who was who in the different timelines. Gotta love an engaging story like that.
I won't be talking about the character each because I can't promise to not spoil anything(and I don't feel like doing to spoiler formatting thing).
But what I will talk about how the madness that was the love story was so star-crossed and beautiful up until the very end. It exceed all of my expectations and then some. I could never predict what was going to happen and there were moments I have to take a break to collect my own thoughts and even do some detective work of my own.
The love within these timelines were so raw, right, and wrong and I loved every bit of each of their perspectives through it. I was equally descending into madness thanks to the characters. The desire and desperation could be felt through the words on the page and that is everything I want from a soulmate based story. Making as bittersweet as it was in this particular book only made it better imo.
The ending was such a nice closure to everything too. This was truly a great book that I definitely plan to buy for my own personal collection.
Author Huang you did your damn thing with this one and I can only ask for more.
