"There are certain kinds of deaths that one should not be expected to relive, certain kinds of connections so deep that when they are broken you feel the snap of the link inside you."
So I've watched the movie before knowing that it is based on a book which kind of diminishes my experience while reading. I already know all the secrets so I just let the events passed me.
Even so, I quite liked the writing style. It was a bit dry but powerful. It has a menacing and whimsical atmosphere. It's the kind of story that feels like the book envelops the reader.
Even though I already know what will happen next, I still kept on turning the pages. The narrator truly held my attention.
This is the Book 1 of the trilogy but I'm not sure if I'll pick up the next book. I'm already satisfied with the questions left unanswered.
