Bambi by Felix Salten
4.0
⭐️: 4.25/5
I found this story to have a treacly tone, however it’s not saccharine, more like sugar in the raw.
It is a lucid, charming, quintessential, honest read.
It’s clearly an allegory; for what? Who knows! It’s apt to symbolize all that encompasses the mortal condition.
Side Note: I’d bet six-bucks that Felix Salten’s Bambi “inspired” George Orwell’s Animal Farm. Too bad Orwell is such a ponderous writer. With a fraction of Salten’s poignancy, I could learn to endure him.
