lalauren04 's review for:
The Last Thing He Needs
by J.H. Knight
I saw a cute review for this one, and the blurb sounded so great, so I downloaded this and started it straight away. So glad I did, because this is one of my new favourites and definitely one of the best books I've read this year. There was angst and heartbreak, yes, but it was also so heart-warming and lovely too. The whole family situation and all the secondary characters had the potential to get very confusing very fast, but it never did. And I adored the entire O'Shea family. So much so, in fact, that I would love to read more stories based around these characters. I could go on at great length about what I loved with each person, and every single character felt relevant and well developed, not just an afterthought to the MCs and their story. I really came to care for the entire family, and Bobby's mother Judy too.
Tommy and Bobby were perfect together, in a completely not-perfect kind of way. And yes, that totally makes sense. I think. They were opposites in so many ways, but they worked so well together. Tommy needed Bobby and vice versa, and they just felt right. The chemistry between the two men was hot and the love they felt for each other warmed my heart and made me want to cry many happy tears (which may have happened once or twice).
I really cannot recommend this book enough. Seriously, it made me feel so much. I honestly didn't want it to end, and I really look forward to reading more by this insanely talented author.
