The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga of Churchill, Family, and Defiance During the Blitz by Erik Larson

4.0

Not my favorite of Larson's works, but that's probably because all of his others have been 5 stars for me. This one reads more like a historical work than a narrative, but he does pepper in some fun personal stories here and there. I would relate the writing of this as closer to a Bill Bryson than Larson's other stories. That being said, I was able to gain a much greater appreciation for the 1940-1941 air raids over England as well as the formation of WWII.
